How To Make Masala Chai?

Boil 1 cup water in a saucepan

Add 1 to 2 teaspoons loose black tea leaves or 1 tea bag

Add 1 to 2 crushed cardamom pods

Add 1 small cinnamon stick

Add 2 to 3 crushed cloves

Add 2 to 3 slices fresh ginger or 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger

Add 1 to 2 black peppercorns if desired

Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes

Add 1/2 to 1 cup milk

Add sugar or sweetener to taste

Bring to a gentle boil

Simmer for 1 to 2 minutes

Strain into cups

Serve hot
