Cleanse face and pat dry
Apply oil, serum, or gel slip (enough to prevent dragging)
Hold gua sha at a 15–45° angle to the skin
Use gentle to moderate pressure (comfortable, not painful)
Start at the center of the face and move outward
Use upward strokes on the face and neck
Avoid pressing directly over eyes, eyelids, and lips
Use light strokes around the under-eye area only if comfortable
Work in small sections and repeat each stroke 5–10 times
Common facial directions:
Forehead: center to temples
Cheeks: nose to temples
Jawline: chin to ears
Under jaw/neck: jaw to collarbone
Around mouth: corners of mouth to temples
Temples: circular or light sweeping toward temples
Finish with slower, lighter strokes to reduce redness
Rinse or wipe the tool after use and let it dry fully
Apply moisturizer or serum after treatment
Frequency: 2–4 times per week to start, then adjust to tolerance
Stop if you get pain, persistent redness, bruising, rash, or broken capillaries
Avoid use over active acne, open wounds, sunburn, or irritated skin
Do not use on blood thinners or if you have a bleeding disorder (consult a clinician first)
