How To Use Gua Sha?

Cleanse face and pat dry

Apply oil, serum, or gel slip (enough to prevent dragging)

Hold gua sha at a 15–45° angle to the skin

Use gentle to moderate pressure (comfortable, not painful)

Start at the center of the face and move outward

Use upward strokes on the face and neck

Avoid pressing directly over eyes, eyelids, and lips

Use light strokes around the under-eye area only if comfortable

Work in small sections and repeat each stroke 5–10 times

Common facial directions:

Forehead: center to temples

Cheeks: nose to temples

Jawline: chin to ears

Under jaw/neck: jaw to collarbone

Around mouth: corners of mouth to temples

Temples: circular or light sweeping toward temples

Finish with slower, lighter strokes to reduce redness

Rinse or wipe the tool after use and let it dry fully

Apply moisturizer or serum after treatment

Frequency: 2–4 times per week to start, then adjust to tolerance

Stop if you get pain, persistent redness, bruising, rash, or broken capillaries

Avoid use over active acne, open wounds, sunburn, or irritated skin

Do not use on blood thinners or if you have a bleeding disorder (consult a clinician first)
