Sanitize all equipment
Boil or warm water, then cool to room temperature
Add honey to a sanitized fermenter
Pour in the cooled water and mix until dissolved
Add yeast nutrient if desired
Add wine or mead yeast
Fit an airlock on the fermenter
Keep fermenting at a stable room temperature
Wait until bubbling slows and fermentation finishes
Rack the mead off the sediment into a clean vessel
Let it age until clear and smooth
Bottle the mead
Store bottles in a cool, dark place
