How to Make Nectar for Hummingbird?

Mix 1 part white granulated sugar with 4 parts water

Use plain white sugar only

Boil the water if desired, then let it cool

Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved

Let the nectar reach room temperature before filling feeders

Do not add red dye, honey, brown sugar, or artificial sweeteners

Replace nectar every 2 to 3 days in hot weather

Replace nectar every 5 to 7 days in cooler weather

Clean the feeder regularly with hot water and a brush

Store extra nectar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week
