Gather two square sheets of paper
Fold each sheet in half lengthwise
Unfold and cut or tear along the fold to make two rectangles
Fold each rectangle lengthwise again
Fold each strip diagonally at one end to make a triangle
Fold the remaining end diagonally in the opposite direction to make a mirrored triangle
Repeat with the second strip so both pieces are folded the same way
Place one folded strip over the other in a cross shape
Tuck the ends of each strip into the pockets of the other piece
Pull the folds tight to lock the shape together
Adjust the points so the star lies flat and even
