4 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons meringue powder
5 to 6 tablespoons warm water
1 teaspoon light corn syrup or lemon juice, optional
Sift the powdered sugar
Combine powdered sugar and meringue powder in a bowl
Add warm water gradually
Mix on low speed until smooth
Increase speed and beat until stiff peaks form
Add more water for thinner icing
Add more powdered sugar for thicker icing
Cover the icing with plastic wrap when not in use
Store in an airtight container
Use immediately or refrigerate for later use
