Chill a bowl or container in the freezer
Pour cold heavy cream into the bowl
Add cold milk
Add sugar
Add vanilla extract
Whisk until the sugar dissolves
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker
Churn until soft and thick
Transfer to a container
Freeze briefly if needed for a firmer soft-serve texture
Serve immediately
