Crack 2 to 3 eggs into a bowl
Add a pinch of salt
Add 1 to 1.5 cups of water or broth
Whisk until fully combined
Strain the mixture into a heatproof bowl
Cover the bowl with foil or a plate
Place the bowl in a steamer or pot with simmering water
Steam over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes
Check for a set but slightly jiggly texture
Remove from heat
Garnish if desired
Serve warm
