How to Make Tinctures?

Choose your herb or plant material

Clean and dry the material if needed

Chop or grind the herb to increase surface area

Place the herb in a clean glass jar

Add alcohol to fully cover the herb

Seal the jar tightly

Label the jar with the herb name and date

Store the jar in a cool, dark place

Shake the jar daily

Let it steep for 2 to 6 weeks

Strain the liquid through cheesecloth or a fine sieve

Press out the remaining liquid from the plant material

Pour the tincture into dark glass dropper bottles

Label the bottles with the contents and date

Store in a cool, dark place
