How to Make White Queso?

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

8 ounces white American cheese, shredded or chopped

1 small can diced green chiles

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Salt to taste

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat

Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute

Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth

Cook until slightly thickened

Reduce heat to low

Add the white American cheese gradually, stirring until melted

Stir in the green chiles, garlic powder, and onion powder

Add salt to taste

Serve warm
