How To Make Yellow Rice?

Rinse 1 cup long-grain rice in cold water until the water runs mostly clear

In a pot, combine 1 cup rice, 2 cups water or chicken broth, 1–2 tbsp oil, and salt to taste

Add 1/2–1 tsp turmeric (for yellow color)

Add 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 1 minced garlic clove

Add 1/2 tsp ground cumin (optional)

Add 1/4–1/2 tsp paprika (optional)

Add 1 small bay leaf (optional)

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 15–20 minutes until liquid is absorbed

Remove from heat and let stand covered 5–10 minutes

Fluff with a fork and serve
