Gather raw materials: silica sand, soda ash, limestone, and optional additives
Measure and mix the ingredients
Feed the mixture into a furnace
Heat the mixture to about 1,500–1,700°C until it melts
Remove bubbles and impurities from the molten glass
Shape the molten glass by blowing, pressing, rolling, or floating
Cool the shaped glass slowly in an annealing lehr
Cut, polish, or finish the glass as needed
Inspect the final glass for defects
