Place the saddle on a level surface
Measure the seat from the front of the pommel to the back of the cantle
Measure in a straight line along the top center of the seat
Use a flexible tape measure for curved seats
Record the measurement in inches or centimeters
Measure the widest part of the seat if needed for fit comparison
Check the saddle maker’s sizing method, since some brands measure differently
