Wear fitted pants or shorts, or measure over underwear
Stand straight with feet about shoulder-width apart
Place a measuring tape at the crotch seam
Run the tape down the inside of the leg to the ankle bone or desired hem length
Keep the tape snug but not tight
Record the measurement in inches or centimeters
Repeat on the other leg if needed
Use the longer measurement if the legs differ
For pants, compare the inseam to the garment’s size chart
