Stand upright with feet together and relax your abdomen
Find the narrowest part of your waist, usually just above the belly button
Wrap a measuring tape around your waist and record the measurement
Find the widest part of your hips and buttocks
Wrap the measuring tape around your hips and record the measurement
Divide the waist measurement by the hip measurement
Use the formula: Waist-to-Hip Ratio = Waist ÷ Hips
Make sure both measurements use the same unit
Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight
