Gather a piece of paper, a pencil, a ruler or measuring tape, and socks you plan to wear with the shoes
Place the paper on a hard, flat surface against a wall
Stand on the paper with your heel touching the wall
Keep your weight evenly distributed on both feet
Mark the tip of your longest toe on the paper
Repeat for the other foot
Measure the distance from the wall edge to each toe mark in inches or centimeters
Use the larger measurement of the two feet
Compare the measurement to a shoe size chart
Measure your foot in the evening for the most accurate size
Add extra room if you want a looser fit or if the shoe type requires it
