Open the FaceTime call
Tap the screen if the controls are hidden
Tap the microphone icon to mute your own audio
To mute someone else, use the volume controls on your device
If needed, turn off your speaker or lower the volume to silence their audio
On Mac, click the microphone icon in the FaceTime window to mute yourself
If you want to stop hearing someone completely, end the call or use Do Not Disturb
