Turn the dial clockwise several full turns to clear the lock
Stop when the first number aligns with the indicator
Turn the dial counterclockwise past the first number once, then stop on it the second time
Turn the dial clockwise directly to the second number
Pull up or open the shackle or latch
If it does not open, repeat the sequence carefully and make sure each number is aligned exactly
