Tap the lid edge firmly with a spoon or butter knife
Use a rubber grip pad, jar opener, or thick rubber gloves
Dry the jar and lid for better grip
Twist the lid while holding the jar body steady
Strike the lid’s edge lightly around the rim to break the seal
Pry up the lid edge slightly with a spoon to let air in
Ask someone else to try if your grip is weak
Use a strap wrench or adjustable jar opener
Loosen the lid by turning it slightly counterclockwise first, then open normally
