Press the tofu to remove excess moisture
Cut the tofu into cubes, slabs, or triangles
Pat the tofu dry with paper towels
Season lightly if desired
Heat a skillet over medium to medium-high heat
Add a thin layer of oil to the pan
Place the tofu in a single layer
Cook without moving until the bottom is golden brown
Flip each piece carefully
Cook the other sides until evenly browned
Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning
Remove the tofu from the pan
Serve immediately or add to your dish
