How to Perform Varalakshmi Pooja?

Clean the pooja area and take a bath

Wear clean traditional clothes

Set up the altar facing east or north

Place a decorated kalasham or pot on a plate

Fill the pot with water, rice, coins, betel leaves, turmeric, and a small mirror if desired

Tie mango leaves around the mouth of the pot

Place a coconut on top of the pot

Draw or place the face of Goddess Varalakshmi on the kalasham

Decorate the kalasham with flowers, turmeric, kumkum, and jewelry

Place a lamp, incense, and pooja items nearby

Offer flowers to Lord Ganesha and pray to remove obstacles

Invoke Goddess Varalakshmi with prayers and sankalpam

Offer turmeric, kumkum, flowers, fruits, betel leaves, and sweets

Light the lamp and incense

Recite Varalakshmi stotram or Lakshmi prayers

Perform aarti to the Goddess

Offer naivedyam such as payasam, pongal, or sweets

Distribute prasadam to family members

Tie the sacred thread or charadu on the wrist if part of the ritual

Pray for health, wealth, prosperity, and family well-being

Conclude with namaskaram and seek blessings from elders

Keep the kalasham for worship until the next day or as per tradition
