Clean the house and puja area thoroughly
Prepare the kalasham with water, rice, betel leaves, turmeric, coins, and mango leaves
Place a coconut on top of the kalasham and decorate it with a cloth and jewelry
Draw or place a rangoli in the puja area
Set up the Varalakshmi idol or face on the kalasham
Light the lamp and incense
Offer flowers, turmeric, kumkum, sandalwood, fruits, and sweets
Perform Ganapati puja first
Invoke Goddess Lakshmi with prayers and mantras
Tie the sacred thread or vratham thread on the wrist
Read or listen to the Varalakshmi Vratham story
Offer naivedyam to the goddess
Perform aarti
Distribute prasadam to family members and guests
Remove the kalasham after the puja is complete
Store the sacred items respectfully for use in future rituals
