Choose a plant and a suitable pot or garden spot
Make sure the pot has drainage holes if using one
Fill the pot or planting area with appropriate soil
Dig a hole slightly larger than the plant’s root ball
Remove the plant gently from its container
Loosen any tightly packed roots
Place the plant in the hole at the same depth it was growing before
Fill in the hole with soil
Press the soil gently around the plant
Water the plant thoroughly
