Choose a strawberry pot with side planting pockets and a drainage hole
Fill the bottom of the pot with a lightweight potting mix
Add slow-release fertilizer if desired
Place one strawberry plant in the top opening
Gently pull a plant through each side pocket from the inside
Add more potting mix around the roots as you go
Firm the soil lightly around each plant
Keep the crown of each plant just above the soil line
Water the pot thoroughly after planting
Top off the soil if it settles
Place the pot in a sunny location
Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist
Rotate the pot occasionally for even light exposure
