Gather 12 dice (or 6 dice for faster play), 3 Bunco tables if possible, score sheets, pencils, and markers for “Bunco” winners
Form teams of 2–4 players per table
Choose a “roll order” (players roll in turn)
Set the round target number for the current round (Round 1 = 1s, Round 2 = 2s, etc., up to Round 6 = 6s)
Start a round: each player rolls all dice on their turn
Score each turn based on the table rules for that round
For each die outcome:
If the total number of dice showing the round target number is:
1 die = 1 point
2 dice = 2 points
3 dice = 3 points
4 dice = 4 points
5 dice = 5 points
6 dice = 6 points
Bunco rule:
If a player rolls three of a kind matching the current round target number (e.g., three 2s in Round 2), score “Bunco” for that roll
Mark Bunco wins for the player who hit Bunco
“Neutral” rule (commonly used):
If a player rolls a total that does not include any of the round target numbers, score 0 for that turn
“Special” scoring (commonly used):
If a player rolls the target number as part of their total but does not meet the “Bunco” condition, score only the points for the number of matching dice
After each player has had a turn, end the round
Move to the next round (target number increases by 1)
Continue until Round 6 is completed
Determine table winners: highest total score at the table
Determine overall winners:
Total table scores across rounds for each team/player
Separate “Bunco” winner(s) based on most Bunco hits (if using a Bunco trophy)
Award prizes:
Table winner (highest score)
Runner-up (optional)
Bunco winner (most Bunco hits)
Rotate tables (optional format):
After each round, move players to the next table so everyone plays different opponents
