Set up the board with the dark square on each player’s bottom-left corner
Each player uses 12 pieces placed on the dark squares of the first three rows
Black usually moves first
Move one piece at a time
Move pieces diagonally forward only
Move only to an empty dark square
Capture an opponent’s piece by jumping diagonally over it to an empty square beyond
Remove captured pieces from the board
Make multiple jumps in one turn if available
If a capture is possible, you must take it
Reach the opponent’s back row to crown a king
Turn a king piece upside down or stack pieces to mark it
Kings can move diagonally forward and backward
Kings can capture diagonally in both directions
Win by capturing all opponent pieces or blocking all legal moves
Take turns until the game ends
