How to Play Settlers?

Set up the board with hex tiles, number tokens, and the robber

Each player chooses a color and takes matching settlements, cities, roads, and resource cards

Place two settlements and two roads in the starting placement phase

Collect starting resources from the second settlement placement

On your turn, roll two dice

Collect resources from hexes matching the dice result and your settlements or cities

If a 7 is rolled, discard half your cards if you have more than 7 and move the robber

Move the robber to a new hex and steal one resource from a player with a settlement or city on that hex

Build roads by paying 1 brick and 1 lumber

Build settlements by paying 1 brick, 1 lumber, 1 wool, and 1 grain

Build cities by paying 2 grain and 3 ore

Buy development cards by paying 1 wool, 1 grain, and 1 ore

Play one development card per turn, if allowed

Use roads to expand your network and connect new settlements

Upgrade settlements to cities to increase resource production

Trade with other players or with the bank

Use 4 of one resource for a 1-for-1 trade with the bank if on a 4:1 port

Use 3 of one resource for a 1-for-1 trade with the bank if on a matching 3:1 port

Win by reaching 10 victory points first
