Use a standard 52-card deck
Shuffle the deck thoroughly
Deal all cards evenly to all players
Keep each player’s cards face down in a personal pile
Each player flips the top card at the same time
Compare the cards
The player with the higher card wins the round
The winner takes all cards played in that round
Place the won cards at the bottom of the winner’s pile
If there is a tie, start a war
For a war, each tied player places three cards face down
Each tied player places one more card face up
Compare the new face-up cards
The highest face-up card wins all cards in the war
If there is another tie, repeat the war
Continue playing until one player has all the cards
Aces are usually high
If playing with more than two players, all players reveal one card each round
The highest card wins the round among all players
If tied players go to war, only the tied players continue the war
End the game when one player collects every card
