Ensure your Airtel SIM is active and the number is eligible for porting
Send an SMS from your Airtel number: PORT
Receive the UPC and its validity period by SMS
Visit a BSNL customer service center, BSNL store, or authorized retailer
Carry your Aadhaar card or other valid ID proof and passport-size photo if required
Submit the MNP porting form and provide the UPC
Choose a BSNL prepaid or postpaid plan
Complete biometric verification if required
Receive the new BSNL SIM
Keep using your Airtel SIM until porting is completed
Insert the BSNL SIM after the porting switch time
Activate the BSNL SIM as instructed by the retailer or BSNL staff
Wait for the porting process to complete, usually within a few days
Ensure there are no pending dues if your Airtel number is postpaid
Make sure the number is not under any porting lock or restriction
Do not submit a new port request if the UPC has expired; request a fresh UPC if needed
