Select fresh orchid potting mix
Remove the orchid from its old pot
Gently shake off old medium
Trim dead or rotted roots with sterilized scissors
Place a small amount of potting mix in the new pot
Position the orchid so the base sits slightly above the potting mix
Fill around the roots with potting mix
Tap the pot lightly to settle the mix
Keep the crown above the medium
Water lightly after potting
Place the orchid in bright, indirect light
Wait to fertilize until new growth appears
