Sort and remove any bruised, moldy, or overripe berries
Keep the stems on until ready to use
Do not wash until just before eating or using
Store in a single layer if possible
Line the storage container with paper towels
Keep the container loosely covered or vented
Refrigerate immediately
Place in the coldest part of the refrigerator, not the door
Replace damp paper towels as needed
Dry berries thoroughly if washed before storage
Freeze berries for longer storage
Hull before freezing if desired
Spread on a tray to freeze individually before transferring to a bag
Use airtight freezer bags or containers
Remove excess air before sealing
Label and date the storage container
Use refrigerated strawberries within a few days
