Mix red and green
Mix yellow and blue
Mix orange and blue
Mix purple and yellow
Mix black with any warm base color (red, orange, or yellow) to darken
Mix white with a base brown to lighten
Start with primary pigments: red + yellow = orange, then add blue to reach brown
Use complementary pairs (orange + blue, purple + yellow, red + green) and adjust ratios
Add a small amount of black to deepen brown
Add a small amount of white or light yellow to reduce darkness
For paint: combine pigments on a palette and adjust with incremental additions until the desired shade is reached
