Turn on the device you want to control
Insert fresh batteries into the Philips universal remote
Press and hold the Setup button until the red light stays on
Press the device button you want to program, such as TV, DVD, or AUX
Enter the correct code for your device using the number buttons
Wait for the red light to turn off
Test the remote by pressing Power, Volume, or Channel buttons
If the device does not respond, repeat the steps with another code
If no code works, use the code search method
Press and hold Setup until the red light stays on
Press the device button
Press Power repeatedly until the device turns off
Press Enter or OK to save the code
Test all basic functions again
Repeat for each additional device you want to program
