How to Properly Use a TENS Unit?

Consult a healthcare professional before first use, especially if you have a medical condition

Do not use on broken skin, irritated skin, or areas with reduced sensation

Do not use on the head, neck, chest, or over the heart unless specifically directed by a clinician

Do not use if you have a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted electronic device unless cleared by a doctor

Do not use during pregnancy unless approved by a healthcare professional

Clean and dry the skin before placing electrodes

Place electrodes on the painful area or along the muscle as directed

Ensure electrodes are fully attached and not overlapping

Start with the lowest intensity setting

Increase intensity gradually until a comfortable tingling is felt

Stop increasing if it becomes painful, sharp, or causes muscle spasms

Use the device for the recommended time only

Do not fall asleep while the unit is on unless instructed it is safe to do so

Turn the unit off before removing the electrodes

Remove electrodes gently after use

Store electrodes and device according to the instructions

Replace worn or damaged electrodes

Stop use if you experience skin irritation, dizziness, or unusual symptoms

Keep the device away from water unless it is rated for such use

Keep out of reach of children
