Maintain proper grading so water drains away from the foundation

Apply a waterproof masonry coating to the lower stucco area
Install gutters and downspouts to direct water away from the wall
Extend downspouts several feet away from the house
Use splash blocks or drain extensions at downspout outlets
Avoid sprinkler overspray onto the bottom of the stucco wall
Repair damaged stucco promptly to prevent moisture intrusion
Use a termite or pest barrier if required in your area
Keep vegetation trimmed back from the wall
Ensure the bottom edge has proper weep drainage if part of the wall assembly
