Thread the webbing through the ratchet slot from the bottom side
Pull the webbing through until it is snug
Open the ratchet handle fully
Feed the loose end of the strap through the center spool
Pull out most of the slack by hand
Close and open the handle to begin tightening
Pump the handle until the strap is tight
Lock the handle closed
Secure any excess webbing so it does not flap loose
