Turn on the HP printer
Open the ink cartridge access door
Wait for the carriage to move to the center
Remove the old cartridge if needed
Take the new cartridge out of its packaging
Remove the plastic tape from the cartridge
Hold the cartridge by the sides
Insert the cartridge into the correct slot
Push it in until it clicks into place
Close the cartridge access door
Wait for the printer to align the cartridges if prompted
