Connect your microphone or audio interface to your computer
Open FL Studio
Go to Options > Audio Settings
Select your audio interface or microphone as the input device
Set the sample rate and buffer size
Create or open a project
Add a Mixer track for vocals
Select an empty Mixer insert
Choose the correct input source for that insert
Arm the Mixer track for recording
Enable disk recording if needed
Turn on the metronome if you want a count-in
Set the tempo of the project
Load any beat or instrumental you want to record over
Check input levels and avoid clipping
Add a noise gate or basic effects if needed
Click the Record button on the transport bar
Choose Audio, into the Playlist as an Audio Clip or Audio into the Edison if prompted
Start playback and perform the vocal take
Stop recording when finished
Listen back to the recording
Trim, move, or edit the vocal clip in the Playlist
Save the project
Export the final mix when ready
