Replace or disinfect contact lenses and cases as directed
Avoid sharing towels, pillows, makeup, or eye drops
Clean discharge from the eye with a clean, damp cloth or cotton pad
Throw away eye makeup used during the infection
Rest your eyes and avoid eye strain
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe, worsening, or not improving
Get urgent care if you have eye pain, vision changes, light sensitivity, or swelling around the eye
