Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to remove
Go to https://account.microsoft.com
Open Your info
Select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft
Remove any aliases you no longer want to use
If you want to stop using the account completely, back up your data first
Go to https://account.microsoft.com/closeaccount
Sign in again if prompted
Review the account closure information
Select Next
Check all required boxes
Choose a reason for closing the account
Select Mark account for closure
Wait 60 days for permanent deletion
If the account is on a Windows device, open Settings
Go to Accounts
Select Email & accounts or Access work or school
Choose the Microsoft account
Select Remove
Confirm the removal
If it is the only sign-in account on the device, create a local account first
Restart the device after removal
