Find the loose edge of the backing
Use a fingernail, tweezers, or a knife tip to lift the corner
Bend the tape slightly to separate the layers
Peel the backing away slowly at a low angle
Keep the adhesive side from touching itself or other surfaces
If the backing tears, lift a new edge and continue peeling
Use scissors to trim a fresh edge if needed
Wear gloves if the adhesive is very sticky
