Turn off power to the fan at the breaker
Confirm the power is off at the switch
Remove the fan cover by pulling it down or releasing the spring clips
Unscrew the fan housing from the ceiling joists or mounting bracket
Disconnect the electrical wires in the junction box
Disconnect any ducting attached to the fan
Remove any remaining screws, brackets, or fasteners
Lower the fan housing carefully from the ceiling
Patch or cover the opening if the fan is being fully removed
Restore power only after all wiring is safely secured or capped
