Gather a screwdriver, utility knife, putty knife, and pliers
Check the towel bar for visible screws or set screws
Loosen and remove any set screws with the correct Allen key or screwdriver
Remove decorative caps to expose hidden mounting screws
Unscrew the mounting brackets from the wall
Cut any caulk or paint around the brackets with a utility knife
Gently pry the brackets away from the wall with a putty knife
Pull the towel bar and hardware off the wall
Remove any wall anchors left behind with pliers
Patch the holes if needed
Clean the wall area after removal
