Open the Google Docs document
Double-click the header area
Select any text or blank space in the header
Press Backspace or Delete to remove content
Go to Format
Select Headers & footers
Choose Remove header
If needed, reduce the header margin
Go to File
Select Page setup
Lower the top margin
Click OK
