Right-click the icon on the desktop
Select Delete
Confirm if prompted
If it is a shortcut, select Delete to remove only the shortcut
If it is a file, move it to the Recycle Bin or Trash
If it is a system icon, open Desktop Icon Settings and uncheck it
If it is pinned by an app, open the app settings and disable desktop shortcut creation
If the icon keeps reappearing, check startup apps or sync settings and disable the source
