Open the Excel file
Go to File
Select Info
Click Protect Workbook
Choose Encrypt with Password
Delete the password from the box
Click OK
Save the file
If the sheet is protected, go to Review
Click Unprotect Sheet
Enter the password if prompted
If the workbook structure is protected, go to Review
Click Protect Workbook
Remove the password
Click OK
Save the workbook again
