Repeat the treatment if the smell remains
For carpets, clean both the surface and the padding if needed

For hard floors, clean the area thoroughly and dry it completely
Use baking soda on dry, cleaned areas to help absorb odor
Vacuum up the baking soda after several hours or overnight
