Blot the stain immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel
Do not rub the fabric
Sprinkle salt on the stain to absorb excess wine
Pour cold water through the back of the stain
Apply liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Rinse with cold water
Repeat if needed
For white clothing, use a stain remover or oxygen bleach if the care label allows
Wash the garment in cold water
Check the stain before drying
Air dry only until the stain is gone
If the stain remains, repeat the treatment before drying again
