Park on a flat surface, set the parking brake, and chock the wheels
Loosen the lug nuts before lifting the vehicle
Raise the vehicle with a jack and support it securely with jack stands
Remove the wheel
Remove the brake caliper and caliper bracket if they block access
Remove the brake rotor if needed
Rotate the hub until the wheel stud lines up with an opening behind the hub
Spray penetrating oil on the stud splines if rusted
Use a hammer to drive the stud out from the back of the hub
If the stud will not move, use a press or a stud removal tool
Remove the damaged stud completely
Insert the new stud from the back of the hub
Install a washer and lug nut on the front side of the stud
Tighten the lug nut to pull the new stud fully into place
Remove the lug nut and washer
Reinstall the rotor, caliper bracket, and caliper
Reinstall the wheel
Lower the vehicle
Torque the lug nuts to specification
