Remove or cover furniture and floor items
Take down wall decor, curtains, and outlet covers
Clean the walls to remove dust and grease
Fill holes, cracks, and dents with spackle
Sand patched areas and rough spots smooth
Wipe away sanding dust
Tape off trim, edges, and fixtures
Apply primer if needed
Stir the paint thoroughly
Cut in along edges with a brush
Roll paint onto the walls in even sections
Apply a second coat if needed
Let the paint dry fully
Remove painter’s tape carefully
Reinstall outlet covers and wall decor
Clean brushes, rollers, and tools
